Advanced Diploma in Wellness Coaching Skills

Course Length: 2 Years (start at any time)
Qualification: Advanced Diploma in Wellness Coaching Skills
Course Fees: £2599.00

This qualification is for anyone interested in adding wellness coaching skills to their work portfolio (you need to be a qualified wellness professional to apply for this course). You will learn the underpinning theory of wellness coaching plus how to apply the skills in practice. The two-year course (you can complete it quicker) which you can start throughout the year, is delivered via blended learning (online and F2F) with full tutor support.

Who the course is for

The Advanced Diploma in Wellness Coaching Skills is for qualified healthcare professionals e.g. nurses, nutritionists, complementary therapists, OTs, PTs and who are therefore able to coach the client on effective changes in relation to, for example, lifestyle or diet and would like to be trained to the equivalent of QCF Level 5. You are welcome to enrol straight on this course if you are a healthcare professional. You do not have to take a Certificate in Wellness Coaching or the Fast-Track in Wellness Life Coaching Skills before coming on this course.

Professionals who have studied with us include: GPs, counsellors, complementary therapists, nurses (diabetic, theatre, hospice, general), occupational therapists, nutritionists, paediatricians, medical physiotherapists, personal trainers, yoga teachers, mental health workers, adult social care workers, health care support workers and rehab workers.

Those that work in the NHS may see their role extended to that of wellness coach as patients are encouraged to take increased ownership of their LTC alongside medical interventions.

Wellness coaching is also appropriate for private sector healthcare professionals. The growth of private healthcare lies in offering a range of solutions e.g. treatments, products, wellness coaching, and other services to potential buyers. The patient chooses their combination and alongside the health professional, co-creates and implements their wellness programme.

How the course is delivered

You can take up to two years to complete this course which is delivered through blended learning (a mixture of supported distance learning and supervised skills development).  You can start the course at any time of the year.

One of your tutors for this course is Laurel Alexander, author of How to Incorporate Wellness Coaching into your Therapeutic Practice (Jessica Kingsley).

‘Excellently written book, full of practical advice for any therapist/counselor. Highly recommended. I find that most other books brush over the practical demonstrations of application and concentrate upon theoretical attributes instead, however, Laurel’s book is exceptionally written and combines practical use within the context of theoretical perspectives. This book uses alternative/holistic approaches to coaching as well as psychological and cognitive behavioral coaching. A must-read for anyone interested in becoming a coaching psychologist, stress management therapist or wellness coach alone.’

“I am using your book in my post masters integrative therapy course. It’s great.” E.C. nurse practitioner

NEW BOOK published by Jessica Kingsley and written by Laurel Alexander – Integrative Wellness Coaching

“A welcome addition to any practitioner’s resources. This is a resource that will be called upon again and again. I cannot recommend it highly enough!” Jeannette Marshall, Director of Accreditation at Association for Coaching.

“Written by the brilliant Laurel Alexander, this book demonstrates a preventative approach to wellness which can be woven into our more traditional ways. An excellent read.” Ray Freeman BA(Hons) PGCE FNCIP, Director of Operations of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists

“This book is an indispensable guide for all practitioners. I would have loved to have had this when I was starting off, and I believe that Laurel Alexander has done the most outstanding job at bringing together some of the most important elements within integrative and complementary wellbeing coaching. Here at The Complementary Medical Association, we shall be recommending this book to all of our members wholeheartedly.” Jayney Goddard MSc FCMA FRSM, President, The Complementary Medical Association

“Against the backdrop of the impact of the pandemic, this is a timely and wise book, challenging the reader to look beyond outdated models of coaching and instead, to embrace an integrated and reflective approach to their work. What Laurel doesn’t know about wellness coaching isn’t worth knowing.” Su Orosa, Wellbeing Coach and Counsellor
