Jo Permaul, Director of Studies
(She/Her)
“My passion is helping people like you step into your full potential, build on the wellness skills you have, and create a life that truly feels like yours—from the inside out. Supporting others in their wellbeing isn’t just meaningful work—it’s a rich, rewarding journey of growth, purpose, and deep connection.”
About Me
I’ve always been passionate about helping people unlock their potential and live fulfilling, empowered lives. Whether in my early career as an educator or later as a Health Coach and Homeopath, my journey has always been guided by a deep commitment to supporting others.
My path began in education, working in secondary schools, a psychiatric unit, and Gypsy Traveller education. These experiences taught me the importance of empathy, adaptability, and resilience—qualities that have shaped every step of my career. Over time, my passion for natural health led me to retrain as a homeopath, working with Weleda to coach wellness professionals and helping them grow their confidence and skills.
While practicing as a homeopath, I realised that some clients needed more than just natural remedies. I had a strong sense that adding coaching to my practice could unlock even greater transformation for those I worked with. This insight inspired me to train as a holistic life coach, blending coaching techniques with complementary medicine to help clients make lasting behaviour changes and feel truly empowered.
This approach became the foundation of my work. Today, as the Director of Wellness Professionals at Work, I am passionate about delivering high-quality, accredited education to aspiring and established wellness coaches. I remain deeply connected to real-world challenges by continuing to treat patients through health and wellness coaching, homeopathy, quantum frequency healing, and intuitive readings.
I’ve also developed and launched programs like Resilient Therapists, which empowers therapists to grow their businesses while maintaining their wellbeing. My mission is to ensure that every student who joins Wellness Professionals at Work has the tools, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in the ever-evolving wellness industry.
Beyond my professional life, I integrate my love of nature, esotericism, and healing into my everyday routine. I live in North East London with my family where I enjoy long walks in Epping Forest, reading, yoga, and traveling. I’m a volunteer for the Welfare Crew and this year will be in the Wellbeing tent at some festivals!
Whether you’re here to learn, grow, or be inspired, I’m honoured to share this journey with you. Together, we can create a ripple effect of transformation—starting with you!

Alison Wilson, Associate Tutor
(She/Her)
I work as a Leadership Development Trainer and Coach in the NHS and am excited to have the opportunity to work with Wellness Professionals at Work as an Associate Tutor. I also run my own coaching practice alongside my job in healthcare. I completed the Diploma in Life Coaching Skills with Wellness Professionals at Work, so I understand what it is like to train as a coach and to balance flexible learning with other commitments.
I have many years of experience working in healthcare, mainly in Human Resources before my current role and I’m particularly passionate about the power of coaching for frontline health workers. I’ve seen the huge difference it can have on wellbeing and confidence and how this translates into better outcomes for both staff and their patients. In 2025 I was proud that my team at the NHS in South Tees won a Princess Royal Award for Leadership Development Training.
I live in the North East of England with my husband and two cats and love walking on our beautiful beaches. I also love singing in my NHS Trust’s choir in my spare time and performing regular concerts in the hospital.

(She/Her)
I am an ICF (ACC) accredited coach who specialises in supporting senior leaders in Education. I am passionate about the power of coaching to facilitate powerful and meaningful change for individuals, systems and communities.
My niche is exploring the relationship between identity, personal stories and wellbeing, using coaching as a tool to increase awareness of how our narratives shape our thoughts, feelings and actions, and how that awareness liberates us to choose new stories and outcomes.
My background is in education, and I spent many years as an English teacher, and in leadership roles in several London schools. I bring my passion for words into coaching, using writing a core coaching tool that invites deep reflection alongside creative freedom to support clients’ personal and professional growth.
I have a life-long love for reading, writing and being in nature, and a newly found love for weight-training classes! Born in Nigeria and raised in Manchester, I now live in London with my husband and two children.

(She/Her)
I am a passionate advocate for creativity and personal transformation, with a background spanning design, education, and writing. After two decades running a successful interiors business, I transitioned to fiction writing at 45, authoring four books that celebrate legacy, neurodiversity and inclusivity in families. I also write Rewrite Today, a newsletter dedicated to the power of storytelling to reshape our lives, focusing on mid-life transformations.
In 2022, I became a home-schooling solo parent following the loss of my partner and co-parent to suicide. My life-long commitment to journaling played a crucial role in navigating trauma, grief, and stigma, inspiring me to support others on similar paths. As a certified journaling coach, I am delighted to join Wellness Professionals at Work, where I specialise in transformational journaling to help students explore resilience, authenticity, and creative self-discovery.
Creativity, curiosity and courage are my guiding values. I am an avid diarist, wild swimmer, and enthusiastic learner. I have moved 39 times and now live in Shropshire with my daughter.

With over 15 years’ experience, across the corporate and creative industries, I am a marketing consultant specialising in working with purpose-led individuals and small businesses to bring their brands to life.
I believe that rather than shouting into the void, marketing should be about drilling down and really connecting with your audience, demonstrating your expertise, and showing them how and why you are the best choice to provide a service or product for them.
Away from marketing, I live in South East London with my family. I love music, reading, writing, and love taking walks. My current challenge revolves around trying to ignite a love for jogging by taking part in junior park runs with my two children.

About
I’m a psychosynthesis psychologist, EMCC-accredited coach, and advanced tarot practitioner. My work brings psychology, spirituality and Tarot together to support coaches, therapists and reflective practitioners to bring grounded, reflective tools into their practice with integrity and care.
The Ground & Rise® Tarot approach grew out of a significant identity shift in mid-life. After getting divorced and leaving my career, I lost much of what I had known to be ‘true’. I went on to study for a Master’s degree in Psychosynthesis Psychology and slowly rebuilt a sense of self not around who I thought I should be, but around how I wanted to show up in the world. Pulling cards helped.
Around that time, after a dream about creating a Tarot deck, I wrote my thesis on how to use the Tarot as a technique for the re-centring of Self within a therapeutic coaching context.
Psychosynthesis is sometimes described as a psychology of the soul. It recognises that we are more than our habits, roles or defences and that we have an innate capacity to heal and grow psychologically and spiritually. It’s the framework that holds all of my work and keeps it grounded in compassion, relationship and meaning.
For me, Tarot isn’t about prediction or performance. It’s a symbolic language, or a set of archetypes that mirror our inner world and help us listen to what’s moving beneath the surface. Each card invites reflection rather than certainty, helping us translate intuition into awareness, and awareness into considered action.
Ground & Rise® sits at the intersection of these ways of working. It’s how I make sense of complexity, and how I support others to do the same in their professional practice.
