Are you passionate about helping others improve their wellbeing and create lasting lifestyle change? If you’re based in London and exploring how to become a certified wellness coach, you’re in the right place. A wellness coaching certification can open the door to a flexible, meaningful, and people-centred career — one that blends health knowledge with compassionate communication and personal growth.

In this guide, we’ll explore what wellness coaching involves, what to look for in a wellness coaching certification in London, and how you can start your journey with Wellness Professionals at Work.

What Is Wellness Coaching?

Wellness coaching is an emerging profession that sits at the crossroads of psychology, lifestyle medicine, and behaviour change. A certified wellness coach works with clients to:

  • Identify personal wellness goals
  • Develop healthier habits
  • Improve resilience and work–life balance
  • Create sustainable wellbeing plans

Rather than simply giving advice, wellness coaches help clients discover their own motivations, strengths, and strategies for lasting change.

Why Earn a Wellness Coaching Certification?

Earning a wellness coaching certification is essential for establishing credibility, confidence, and structure in your practice. It signals to clients, employers, and professional bodies that you’ve completed rigorous training and follow recognised ethical standards.

Key Benefits of Certification:

✅ Professional recognition – Stand out as a qualified wellness coach.
✅ Enhanced skills – Learn evidence-based techniques in behaviour change and positive psychology.
✅ Career flexibility – Work privately, in healthcare, corporate wellbeing, or education.
✅ Personal growth – Deepen your self-awareness and resilience while supporting others.

With London’s growing wellness sector — from holistic studios to corporate wellbeing programmes — there’s increasing demand for trained and certified wellness professionals.

Studying Wellness Coaching in London

London offers a vibrant hub for personal and professional development. You’ll find workshops, wellbeing centres, and a thriving coaching community. However, not all wellness coaching courses are the same.

When researching your wellness coaching certification in London, consider:

Accreditation and Credibility

Look for courses recognised by respected professional bodies such as:

  • Association for Coaching (AC)
  • UK and International Health Coaches Association (UKIHCA)
  • Complementary Medical Association (CMA)

Wellness Professionals at Work provides accredited training that meets these high standards.

Many London-based students prefer online or blended learning to fit around work or family commitments. Our online wellness coaching certification allows you to study wherever you are — whether in the city, suburbs, or beyond — with the same quality and personal tutor support.

I have just completed the Integrated Diploma in Holistic Life, Wellness, and Resilience Coaching Skills and found it extremely valuable. The course was well-structured and practical, helping me build my coaching knowledge. The skills I learned are not only making a difference in how I work with my clients but they also positively affects the way I show up in my daily life and interact with others.

The tutors were supportive and engaging, their feedback boosted my confidence and offered plenty of valuable suggestions.

Highly recommend this diploma! Thank you for everything 🙂

I completed my Diploma in Holistic Life Coaching with WPaW, and have just returned to them to complete a CPD module. I recommend them wholeheartedly. As a student you feel fully supported, through the personal feedback from your assessments, the safe space and encouraging environment that is created on the live workshops and group supervision calls, and even down to just knowing that Jo and her team are always at the end of an email for professional guidance and support. I look forward to completing more CPD through WPaW in the future.

Recently completed the integrated diploma over 1.5 years and can definitely recommend it! Great team providing training , workshops , case study support and supervision and very much focussed on helping develop each individual where they are at. I have learned huge amount from the course and plan to continue working with these skills going forward . I would say it is a more trauma informed coaching approach than a directive coaching approach , which I much prefer 👌🙏🏼

The fast track diploma in life coaching was just the start I needed to get into coaching, and start my own business. It’s great that there’s so much support available afterwards as well, and I love the group supervision and connection days. I recently went to one of the connection days in Leeds and it was fantastic. From the moment I arrived I felt welcome and at ease. Great workshop exercises and coaching practice, a chance for valuable discussion and to share ideas, and a lovely way to meet other like minded people.

Just got back from a Coaching Connection Day in Leeds with WP@W and my mind is buzzing. So much of our coaching lives are online, from training to delivery, that it was truly uplifting to be in-person with other practitioners and students. The space given to explore the range of experience available gave me access to both new ideas and made visible some of my own limiting thoughts around coaching. Exploring coaching perspectives, engaging with a theoretical model, and practicing coaching were all valuable aspects of the day. As coaches it is so important to experience the impact of coaching yourself, and this day really helped remind me of that. To be present as both a tutor, a coach, and a lifelong student rewrote my sense of identity in a way that was deeply affirming. We need days like these as part of our ongoing development as coaches to remind us exactly how far we've come, and what we're capable of.

I have just completed the Fast Track diploma in wellness coaching and I cannot praise Wellness Professionals at Work highly enough. I had no previous experience/accreditation in coaching, so everything I learnt throughout the course has led to new me gaining coaching skills which I can implement in my current role, but also potentially use as a freelance coach in the future. It is such a well put together program that works across a wide range of courses for people from all walks of life. It allows you to complete at your own pace, in your own way, and I'm so glad I came across them 🙂

I recently completed the Advanced Diploma in Life Coaching Skills over 12 months and I highly recommend it. The combination of self-guided study, personal reflection, practical workshops, and real-life case studies created the perfect environment for me to grow both personally and professionally. It provided a safe and supportive space to deepen my knowledge, build confidence, and develop my own unique coaching style. Jo, Adanna, and Alison were incredibly supportive throughout, always friendly, approachable, and ready to help via email or calls whenever I needed guidance.

I’ve just completed the Wellness Coach Certification and it was a very positive experience overall.
Thorough course, teaching all the fundamentals of ethical wellness coaching, coaching models and other considerations. It was great to have the option of choice of additional modules to supplement the 3 main ones, adding to my knowledge and skill set.
Jo was always very helpful, friendly, supportive and responsive which also added to my positive experience. Highly recommend!

I was very fortunate to receive comprehensive and professional training from this organisation, which has given me new and effective skills in Wellness Coaching, as well as essential information about the practical and legal necessities for creating my coaching practice.
There was a great emphasis on developing and practising real coaching skills with real people, rather than theory alone like some courses out there.
There's great supervision and many CPD options after completion, so I know that I can continue to develop my skills and knowledge as my business grows.
I now have CMA membership and public liability insurance, and my coaching business is up and running.
I'd recommend Wellness Professionals At Work to anyone looking to train in wellness coaching.

I have just completed the modules for the Fast track Wellness Diploma but enjoyed this so much that I have decided to complete the full Integrated Diploma. Access to mentoring and support is excellent combined with online and face to face workshops. I then decided to do the Certificate in Journaling which is personally very beneficially but also great tools to suggest to clients.

I have just completed the ADCT Integrated Diploma in Holistic Wellness Coaching Skills, and studying with Wellness Professionals at Work has been a truly life-changing experience! The modules were relevant and interesting, with a super quick turnaround for marking. The workshops were such an incredibly warm and supportive space, and so helpful in learning the coaching process. Finally, the 40-hours of case studies were vital to consolidate learning and practice, with the supervisory sessions so useful, and the marking of session notes responsive, encouraging, and great for your own reflection. I am so thankful to WP@W for providing such a substantial, well-thought-out course that has gotten me to a place of theory and practice so I can continue on my journey with confidence and pursue my own coaching career. Jo and the team are incredible experts who are there for you every step of the way to provide guidance, advice, and support. Highly recommend studying with them! Thanks so much!!

I can highly recommend Wellness Professionals at work, after completing the Advanced Wellness Coaching Skills Diploma. I have gained so much knowledge and confidence as a Coach and also learnt a lot about myself along the way. I particularly liked the flexibility of the online, live, skills training sessions and that I could work through the Diploma at my own pace. This was essential to be able to fit around my work and family. Training is well structured, with independent learning, coming together face to face with other students, for skills training and supervision. I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to share ideas, practice skills and activities and learn from each other. Jo is a fantastic, supportive tutor and supervisor, having done the training herself (and all the case studies), she understands any challenges and is always there for support. Thank you so much!

Being a Complementary and Holistic Therapist I had the absolute pleasure to attend an online course with Wellness Professionals at Work called "Coaching Techniques for Holistic Therapists" over the last few days.
My word, I am still buzzing. It is incredible how much you can learn in a relatively short amount of time.
It was intense, it was eye-opening, it was fun, it was tough, it was emotional but most of all, it was one of the best CPD courses I have ever done (and I have done loads...).
We learned the difference between coaching and counselling, we learned techniques to use in order to ask relevant questions, we learned a lot about what can hold us back from what we actually want to do, we learned about mindsets, we learned about change, we learned about Cognitive Behavioural Coaching, we learned about working with GOALS, we learned about building rapport and sooooo much more. We also coached each other whilst being observed and received honest feedback afterwards (that bit was rather nerve wracking).
You may wonder why I went onto this course. Many of my clients don't just come for the holistic therapy they booked in but also to find a safe and non-judgemental space to be able to talk. I feel a lot better equipped now and am more aware of how to react to certain situations.
It is highly likely I will carry on with more coaching training as right now I would certainly not call myself a life-coach (but I know that it seems a bit trendy to do so despite lack of training...).
I hope you can tell that I am very excited about the newly acquired skills to use for my clients but also for myself and my family.
Can you see why I am toying with the idea of doing more coaching training?
